Part of the reason why I carry a camera on me at all times is because the human brain can retain only so much information. Under normal (sober) conditions, the brain tends to forget minor details of an event such as the color of someone’s car interior, the number of traffic lights passed en route to a destination, or perhaps the second SONG that played on the radio during the car ride. That is why I like to challenge my brain. For you meat heads out there, you should know that muscle memory would render an exercise useless unless you change it up. Same thing can be said about your brain. Brain exercises will improve your mental capacity. Learning how to write with your non-dominant hand is a good technique or learning the names of the top cricket clubs in KARACHI is another good one.
But add heavy alcohol consumption to the mix and entire events have the potential to be erased from one’s memory. I hate to say it, but this used to happen to me quite frequently. And as much as I hate using this term, my camera has to be my number one wingman. Although it may never save me from regret or embarrassment to my loved ones, a number of times it has helped me put the puzzle pieces of my life together.
The video in this post is one of those examples. When I woke up this particular morning, I could not believe the conversation I was viewing in my camera actually took place just hours earlier. The video takes place in Manila with my friend Abid after a club called EMBASSY. I’m not one who particularly enjoys SHINY SHIRT clubs but my niece was able to get us in, and Abid wanted to chase chicks. So I was down.
Because our money goes a long way there, we somehow ended up with a table and bottle service and anyone who knows Abid knows he loves Gray Goose. That’s basically all I remember.
As I had my trusty wingman by my side (my camera), Abid had the number two wingman on his side, me.
